Joan Marie  Redmond (Rowley)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on March 6, 2015 at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Bud (2005). Loving and devoted mom of Brian (Jane Janssen), Jane (Sandy Ramer), Cathy Szak (Paul), Susan Chmiel (Jim), Mark and the late Paul. Joan was a wonderful and special grandma to Breanne (Jen), Laura, Megan (Adam), Jonathan (Crystal), Kaitlyn (Ian), Julia, Ben (Cassie) and great-grandma to Madeline. Joan will also be missed by her brother Jack, sister-in-law Rita Smith, her many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her sister Norine McNamara. Joan was a long time member of the St. Basil's CWL, and worked many years as the librarian at the BGH School of Nursing. Joan will be fondly remembered for her kindness, patience, love of God, gourmet cooking, bridge playing skills and her great shopping expeditions. Her life was truly enriched by the many friendships she developed from her time spent in Brantford and on her many travels. The family wish to extend their appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre for their care and compassion over the past 9 years. Special thanks to Dr. John Hadley. A heartfelt thank you to Sandy Swain for her love and gentle care. The family will receive friends at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 5-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass to be held at St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, Brantford on Thursday at 12 noon. Cremation to follow. Donations to the St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre or the Adult Recreational Therapy Centre Aphasia Program would be appreciated.
