Passed away suddenly at the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Ambrose “Andy” McDonald (1992). Proud and loving mother of Greg (Helen), Michele (Vince) Delisi, Ross (Helen), Stephen and Jeffrey (Jeanette). Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ken (Mary) Lefebvre and Norma Grove. Geraldine was predeceased by her brothers Gerald, Leonard (Mary) and Marc (Molly) and sister Evelyn (Peter) Maich. Geraldine was a library technician at the Brantford Public Library. She was a long time, faithful member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. Geraldine was also a 60 year member of the Catholic Women’s League, serving as Vice President at St. Basil’s Parish as well as the Liturgy coordinator for many years. Geraldine was also a member of the Telephone City Kiwanis, the former Secretary of the Brantford Highland Games Association, a member of the Brant Opera Guild, Brant Visual Artist Guild and the Glenhyrst Art Gallery. She was proud of her educational accomplishments, graduating from both Mohawk College and the University of Waterloo later in life. Geraldine will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews and all who would call her friend. Geraldine accepted life’s challenges with grace and without complaint and will forever remain a hero in her children’s hearts. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Monday, February 27th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Geraldine can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
