Obituary for Paul Edward Stemmler

STEMMLER, Paul Edward – passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side after a courageous 3 month-long battle with a rare cancer, at the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the age of 60. He fought an honourable fight and was taken far too soon from this world. Paul enjoyed wonderful celebrations for his 60th birthday on October 25th, 2016 surrounded by so much love. Deeply loved and forever missed by his beautiful wife and soul mate Sherry (nee; MacGrandles), married on August 5th, 1978, but, loving each other for over 42 years. He will be sorely missed by his favourite son Shawn, his favourite daughter Stephanie and his favourite son-in-law Cole Loughery. He was the most supportive father and would do anything to help his children. Special Grampa to Addison who he loved with his whole heart and he would light up with joy when she was near. Survived by his beloved father Oscar and his stepfather Don Francis. Gone to be reunited with his mother Pat Francis, his stepmother Terry, and his father-in-law Donald MacGrandles. Dear brother of Ken (Carol), Brian (Jan), Jayne Kozak (James MacGrandles), and Cheri Muldoon. Stepbrother of Susan, Steven, Ruth Ann(RIck), Donna, Brent(Jan), and Sid. Much loved and missed "son"-in-law of Pat MacGrandles. Paul will be remembered fondly by his in-laws Dianne(Penny), Donna(the late Bill), Kirk(MaryEllen), the late Nancy(Rick), Patty(Pierre), Kim(Sheri). He will be greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. Paul was retired from Lear Corporation after 30 years of dedicated service and he recently enjoyed being employed at Home and Leisure, he made lifelong friends wherever he went. Paul was known as the “Ironman” of 5 pin bowling for his incredible streak of 1660 consecutive games in tournament play and he was a Masters Canadian Team Champion. He was also a long time coach with the YBC Program at Echo Bowl and will be missed by all that knew him in the bowling community. Paul helped hundreds of people with his many blood donations over the last 40 years and he had hoped to be an organ donor too. Paul would have given his last dollar to help someone and he always put other people's needs before his own. He was truly a one of kind individual that inspired so many lives in his short time here on earth. He had a heart of gold that was so strong right up until it took its final beat. Family and friends will be received for a celebration of life as per Paul's request of his family at the CHARING CROSS RECEPTION SUITES, 63 Charing Cross Street (beside the Dennis Toll Funeral Home) on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 6 -9 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arnold Anderson Sports Fund or the Canadian Blood Services Foundation, would be appreciated. ww.dennistoll.ca
