Donald Edwin  Hunt
Suddenly at John Noble Home on Tuesday April 19th 2016 in his 82nd year. Devoted husband of Elaine (Brown). Loving father to Randall and Allison Hunt (Wayne Watters). Cherished Grandpa to three Granddaughters Lauren (Brad) Richardson, Lesley Hunt and Isabel Hunt. Dear Great Grandpa to Alexandra (Lexi) Richardson. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Rotha Hunt. Survived by brothers John (Muriel), Robert (Joan), Paul (Sandra). Don had a close bond with his 4 brothers in law and 5 sisters in law, along with their spouses and children. Don was a former teacher in Brant County Onadaga Public School, Branchton Public School and Galt, Cambridge Schools, Highland, Central and Lincoln Ave School where he was the Physical Education Teacher & Coach for School hockey teams & baseball teams. He had a great passion for sports. He truly loved working with the students. After 17 years he went on to work in the window business in Ontario & Florida. He has lived with a Brain Injury for 21 years. He continued to enjoy following his hockey and baseball games. Thanks to all the Wonderful Staff at John Noble Home. He had a special connection to the staff who fully understood how to show compassion for a brain injured person. Special Thanks to Nancy, Chris, Tina, LeighAnn, Marissa, Christina, Terry, Sheila, Karli, Heather, Melissa, Debbi& others who know they belong on the list as well as the girls in the laundry, kitchen and the men from maintenance who would talk hockey with him. We will be forever grateful for the love & kindness they had for him. And a Special Thank You to Bonnie and Paul Smith who were a special brother & sister in-law for their constant care & kindness for Don. Donations would be appreciated for John Noble Home Recreational Programming & Ontario Brain Injury Association. A private graveside service officiated by Ken Donald has taken place at Farringdon Church Cemetery with Dennis Toll Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
