Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the John Noble Home in his 78th year. Beloved husband for 40 plus years of Jackie (nee VanderMeer). Loving dad of Allison Bowen (David), Diane Yuhasz (Gary), Audrey Bowen, David VanderSchee (Gloria), Susanne Bowen (Rob) and Brian VanderSchee. Cherished grandpa of Eric, Mark, Luke, Isaac, Samantha, Harrison, Nicholas, Lindsay, Alex, Matthew, Jared and Calvin. Survived by his brothers Bill, Gord, Rick, and his sister Pat. Predeceased by his brother Jim. Robert will also be missed by his sister-in-law Leny, brother-in-law Tony (the late Annelies), and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. Robert worked at Massey Ferguson Combine plant for 25 years and Hamilton Porcelains Ltd for 15 years. He was an avid bowler who also loved fishing with his grandsons, horseshoes, camping, jogging and many other sports. A special thank you to the staff on the Brant Terrace floor at the John Noble Home for all their compassionate care and loving support. The family will receive friends at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Private interment to take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Noble Home or the Alzheimer Society of Brant.
