MOWAT, Mary Ruth (nee Bates) - Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on Monday December 10, 2018 in her 85th year, after enduring ten years with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was predeceased by her husband John (1990). Loving mother of Leslie (Pat Corless), John (Amy), Liz (Mike Simoneau) and Pat (Debbie). Grandmother of Madison and Brooke Papple, James, Lindsay and Trevor Corless, Dylan and John Mowat and Taylor Mowat. Predeceased by her sister Isabelle Harris, brother Donald Bates and brother in law Doug Reid. Survived by her sister Norma Reid, sister in law Eleanor Bates and brother in law Doug Harris. For many years Mary served as local Registrar of the Ontario Court (General Division), (now the Superior Court of Justice). She enjoyed golf, curling and loved reading until she couldn’t. She loved to laugh. Very special thanks to the wonderful, compassionate caregivers on Lilac Lane at St. Joe’s. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, a private family service is being held.
