Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Stedman Community Hospice on February 17, 2018. Beloved wife of Michael and devoted mother of Allison and Sherry. Cherished daughter of Mary Anne Dawes (Davis) and Bruce Dawes. Loving sister of Dave Smeaton (the late Kim), Fred Smeaton (Laurie), Robyn Dawes, and Holly Dawes. Fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Deanna Smith (the late Gordon), and her brothers-in-law Ron Smith (Nicole), Doug Smith, and Jeff Smith (Carolyn), and her sisters-in-law Debbie Smith and Shelley Eakin. Proud aunt of Samantha, Kyle, Nathan, Laura, Leighton, Nicholas, Stephanie and Zachery. A heartfelt thank you to the Brantford Oncology Unit and the Stedman Community Hospice (Hankinson House) for their compassionate care during this difficult time. A celebration of Shelley’s life will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the CHARING CROSS RECEPTION SUITES adjacent to the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street from 1 -3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shelley can be made to the Stedman Community Hospice.
