Passed away peacefully at Hardy Terrace Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 in his 104th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Townsend and loving father of Judy Townsend (BJ Leighton) and Doug (Dot Demerais Townsend). Cherished grandfather of Lindsey Townsend (Kevin), Sarah, Ford, Bella, Taydom, and Dakota Leighton, and the late Chelsey Townsend. Dear brother of the late Marjorie Cleator and the late Elsa Jones. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and special friend Bob Vincent. Many thanks to the staff at Charlotte Villa Retirement Home and Hardy Terrace Long Term Care Centre. Stafford served in WW11from 1939 – 1945 in the 54th Artillery Field Regiment. He was employed as a Police Officer with the Brantford Police Service and held the rank of Inspector until his retirement at age 60. He was a member of the Gunner's Club and the Branch 90 Legion. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Sydenham-Heritage United Church, 120 Sydenham St., Brantford. Donations to the Brantford SPCA or Sydenham-Heritage United Church.
