Betty  Holmes
Surrounded by her loving family, Betty passed away peacefully on Friday Sept. 29,2017 at Hankinson House Stedman community Hospice, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John Holmes for 63 years. Dear mother of David (Susan). Susan ( George), Maxine ( Vince), Donna, Yvonne (Chris) Adored Nanny to Christine (Eric) , Rory, Michael, Amber, Nick, Colin, Paul (Shanna), Elizabeth (Matt), Katie, Nathan ( Alex), Victoria, Johnathan, Emma, Braden. Sister to Margaret (late) and Jim of Weymouth, Dorset England. Aunt to many nieces and nephews in England and Australia She was a longstanding member of the Overseas wives club, the Eagle Place Seniors club and had a love for standardbred racing and of course the slots. She loved going to Port Dover and most of all she loved her family. Betty was a health care aid at the John Noble Home for 24 years. Special thanks to Dr. Maria Matsuda, Dr. Singh and all of the wonderful nursing staff and volunteers who lovingly cared for Betty at home and hospice. She will be dearly missed by many friends and Billy (cat) At Betty's request cremation has already taken place. A private family service will be held at the Mohawk Chapel. Friends will be received for a " Celebration of Life" gathering on Sat. Oct7, 2017 from 2-4 in the Gretzky room at the Best Western Hotel Donations would be greatly appreciated to the Stedman Community Hospice in lieu of flowers.
